An estimated 1,2bn “selfies” were taken in the UK during 2014 as Britons’ fascination with their own faces showed no sign of abating.
Almost a third (31%) admitted to have taken a picture of themselves in the past year with one in 10 taking at least one a week, according to Ofcom.
The communications regulator cited the rise in smartphones with increasingly good cameras, though 22% of people still said they mainly used a digital camera for photos.
