‘Titanic’ set to sail into Japanese hearts

English director Thom Southerland’s reworking of the megahit Broadway musical “Titanic” was an instant sensation when it opened in August 2013 at the popular Southwark Playhouse in a trendy part of South London by the River Thames.

Now, just 18 months later, that acclaimed work based on a story by Peter Stone, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, is set to be staged in Tokyo and Osaka, where it will be reborn with Southerland directing an all-Japanese cast.
