As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told TASS, most of the fake information is posted on large Russian and foreign social networks and messengers - VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Meta (Facebook), Telegram and others. In addition, as noted in the supervisory authority, in parallel with frankly inaccurate information, there are Internet services that offer "services" for the purchase of certificates and vaccination certificates, results of PCR tests, as well as QR codes. All this - bypassing doctors and medical laboratories. For example, already this year in Moscow, fraudsters were detained who, through instant messengers, sold fictitious certificates of allegedly metropolitan polyclinics about honey removal from vaccinations.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, last year a significant number of such services and information was blocked after the corresponding requests from prosecutors to Roskomnadzor. As noted in the supervisory department, such information not only misleads citizens about the coronavirus disease itself, but also discredits the efforts and measures of the state aimed at combating COVID-19.
