Russia - Professor Ehrlich: Earth is facing the sixth wave of mass extinction

Russia (bbabo.net) - Earth is on the verge of the sixth wave of mass extinction. This was stated by a professor at Stanford University Paul Ehrlich. According to him, quoted by the Daily Mail, a million representatives of flora and fauna are on the verge of extinction.

Mass extinction is just one threat. Also on the list are climate change, global poisoning and the resumption of the nuclear arms race. Floods, droughts and wildfires can wreak havoc on the planet like a massive volcanic eruption or a giant asteroid.

Another problem is that there are too many people on Earth. “And the richest of them consume too much, and all this is aggravated by gender, racial and economic inequality,” the professor shared his thoughts.

He recalled that 66 million years ago, a giant asteroid destroyed the dinosaurs living on our planet.
