Kate Winslet keeps her Oscar in the bathroom

When you picture a celebrity's home, specifically a celebrity who has won, say, an Oscar, you might imagine most of them have a shrine or throne dedicated to the prestigious award.

Kate Winslet, of course, is not like most. She keeps her Oscar, which she won for her role in 2008's "The Reader," next to a different kind of throne. That's right, Winslet stores her Oscar in the bathroom, and in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, the actress explains why.

"The whole point is for everybody to pick it up and go, 'I'd like to thank my son and my dad'-and you can always tell when someone has, because they're in there a little bit longer after they flushed. They'll come out looking slightly pink-cheeked. It's hysterical," she says.
