Russia - Volcano Shiveluch threw out a steam-gas column for 4 kilometers

Russia (bbabo.net) - On Monday, January 10, the Kamchatka volcano Shiveluch ejected a column of steam and gas mixed with ash to a height of four kilometers. This was reported by the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with reference to the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group.

The plume from the blowout was carried 175 kilometers west of the giant. There are no settlements on the way of the ash cloud. No ash falls were observed in the villages.

According to the rescuers, the airways in the Shiveluch area do not run, and there are no tourist groups registered nearby. Nothing threatens people.

Shiveluch is one of the largest active volcanoes on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Its height is 3283 meters, its age is 60-70 thousand years. The giant includes three main structures: the Old Shiveluch volcano, the ancient caldera and the active Young Shiveluch volcano. The height of the latter is 2500 meters.
