Russia - The WHO predicted three difficult months because of the omicron

Russia (bbabo.net) - David Nabarro, Special Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the fight against coronavirus, called the next three months difficult due to the outbreak of omicron. At the same time, the expert did not rule out that the end of the pandemic is already close. He stated this on the air of Sky News.

Nabarro found it difficult to name a specific timeline for the completion of the spread of COVID-19. He only specified that humanity will have to face a number of obstacles along the way. In particular, the WHO representative did not rule out the emergence of other strains - in addition to the "omicron", as the virus continues to develop.

He also expressed concern that no country in the world is able to impose serious restrictions, especially in poor countries.

Earlier, the WHO was skeptical about the emergence of a new hybrid strain "deltacron". The head of the WHO technical group, Maria van Kerkhove, called it the result of sample contamination during sequencing. So the WHO commented on the information that a variant of the coronavirus was identified in Cyprus, which combines mutations of other strains - "delta" and "omicron". The hybrid was reported to be confirmed in 25 samples from patients on the island.
