Staff at a south coast tourist attraction have been exercising their lungs in preparation for a bizarre world record attempt for the “loudest scream” in the run up toHalloween.

The ear-shattering attempt will take place on Saturday with a special “guest” appearance from current world record holder Jill Drake, who will attempt to break her own record of 129 decibels.

Thousands of other vocally charged screamers were expected to attend the weird and wonderful event at Tulleys Shocktoberfest Scream Park near Crawley, West Sussex.

The popular Halloween attraction has aimed to set three world records - the loudest scream by a crowd, the longest scream by a crowd, and the loudest individual scream. A £1,000 prize was also up for grabs for anyone who could break a new record for world’s loudest scream.
