Russia - An unmanned aerial system will search for lost people in Astrakhan

Russia (bbabo.net), - Latest generation equipment has entered service with Astrakhan rescuers: an unmanned aerial system that will allow you to search for missing people, including in the Caspian Sea, and determine the location of natural fires in the Volga delta. As Rossiyskaya Gazeta was told in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Astrakhan Region, the region has become one of the first in the country where such a complex is being introduced.

The system is already ready for operation, it consists of a mobile control center - a cross-country vehicle, which houses an external crew and equipment for receiving information from an unmanned aircraft.

According to the Astrakhan rescuers, the drone is equipped with a machine vision system, high-resolution stereo cameras, infrared sensor systems, and thermal imagers that allow detecting hidden fires, predicting the collapse of structures and structures by determining the surface temperature.

The flying wing can operate without recharging for about four hours and monitors the territory at a distance of 90 kilometers from the control center, which allows rescuers to penetrate any hard-to-reach place where other equipment has not gone before. In addition, the complex works in all weather conditions and quickly transfers information to other media.

External pilots of the aviation system were trained in Krasnodar, the first training flight took place in the Privolzhsky district of the Astrakhan region. During the test flight, the complex successfully monitored the situation at water bodies, and also determined the location of fishermen conditionally missing in the water area, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The Astrakhan rescue garrison has been working with unmanned aerial vehicles since 2016, there are about 20 drones in the fleet, but they are all of the helicopter type: they have a much shorter flight range, almost two times shorter operating time, therefore, as noted by the Ministry of Emergencies, the new system is good support for the service.
