“The two-time Olympic champion, Honored Master of Sports Anatoly Nikolaevich Alyabyev has passed away. Quite recently, on December 12 last year, Alyabyev celebrated his 70th anniversary. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Anatoly Nikolaevich, ”the message says.

Alyabyev won gold at the 1980 Lake Placid Games in the individual 20 km race and relay, as well as a bronze medalist in the sprint.
