Great is the reward, or how the intimidating Chimaev fought his way to the belt in the UFC

Swedish rising UFC star Khamzat Chimayev (10-0) prepares for a big fight in his fifth fight in the promotion. Borz's likely rival will be the second-ranked divisional, Brazilian Gilbert Burns (20-4). The bbabo.net correspondent spoke about the potential confrontation in more detail.

The 27-year-old fighter of Chechen origin is rightfully considered one of the stars not only of welterweight, but of the entire world MMA. Chimaev instills fear in opponents, even in experienced and more rated fighters. Recently, rumors circulated online regarding a possible fight between Khamzat and 35-year-old Burns in April.

Khamzat won all four fights in the UFC, while not allowing any damage to his side from opponents. Right now, he is already at the 11th line in the ranking. As for Burns, he is experienced and very dangerous. In recent years, the Brazilian lost only to champion Kamar Usman (20-1) in the title fight.

Even Rakhmonov does not want to fight him. The first volunteer appeared for the fight against Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC

Few of the fighters outside the top 10 of their weight manage to get an instant fight with the second number of the rating. The hype that revolves around Chimaev makes such a confrontation possible. Perhaps few people want to admit it, but Khamzat's media presence and popularity is much higher than that of most other tops in weight up to 77 kilograms.

Burns probably thinks defeating an unbeaten Chimaev is one of the greatest accomplishments there can be for the UFC welterweight right now. This is no less desirable than winning the champion belt. Since the fight for the belt is not yet coming to Gilbert, the confrontation with Khamzat is a great chance for Burns to gain a foothold in the status of the number one contender.

If this fight takes place, it will arouse the interest of all connoisseurs of mixed martial arts. Kazakhstani prospect Shavkat Rakhmonov (14-0) would have watched this fight with interest, because a number of fans from the CIS countries speak about their potential fight with Chimaev.

And most importantly, if Chimaev defeats Burns, then no one will have any doubts that he deserved the title chance. And it will be one of the greatest ascents in the history of the best league in the world.

Earlier we talked about the course of Rakhmonov's preparation for his February fight.

He did not miss a single blow in three battles and threatened to "kill everyone." What kind of beast "New Khabib" is and when will he meet with Kazakhstani Rakhmonov?
