Christmas tour ended in Prikamye

Russia (bbabo.net), - The "Christmas tour" - an open all-Russian competition in ski jumping for young flying skiers, has ended in the Perm Territory. Thanks to the open status of the tournament, children aged from eight to 13 years old from Bulgaria, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Slovakia took part in it.

As explained in the regional Ministry of Sports, the format of the "Christmas Tour" is similar to the adult international competitions "Tour of Four Hills". During the week, the guys made test attempts in three cities of the Kama region: Perm, Lysva and Tchaikovsky. The best athletes, following the results of three stages, reached the final, which took place in Tchaikovsky at the Snezhinka federal winter sports training center. The final of the tournament is included in the calendar of the International Ski Federation (FIS). This means that the guys get their first points in their professional career at Russian competitions.

At the final stage of the "Christmas Tour", the participants switched to higher power jumps. As a result, Elizaveta Andreeva (St. Petersburg) and Ivan Shavel (Belarus) became the winners of the overall standings in the group of athletes born in 2010 and younger. In the age group 11-13 years old, Ekaterina Naumova (St. Petersburg) and Dmitry Seregin (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) won.

For the first time, a mixed team competition took place within the framework of the "Christmas Tour". The victory was celebrated by the united squad of Slovakia and Bulgaria, the second place went to the Russian team from St. Petersburg, the third place was taken by the national team of Belarus.

- The Slovakian team comes to this competition for the second time. First of all, I would like to thank the organizers for the opportunity given to athletes from different countries to compete and gain experience, - says coach of the Slovakian team Denis Kapustikova. - We hoped for the best, and everything worked out. Two years ago we did not have a single medal, but this time our girls stood on the podium every day, and our boy jumped onto the podium. For the first time in the history of this tournament, Slovakia won the team competition. Yes, the cold in Lysva made a strong impression on everyone. And the intra-team chemistry was very good - the children here are happy, and this is the most important thing for us.

Let us remind you that the "Christmas tour" was held in Prikamye for the 17th time. During this time, regional competitions have moved to the international level and have become a start in big sport for many of the current leaders of the Russian national ski jumping team, such as Irina Avvakumova, Sofya Tikhonova and Lidia Yakovleva.

Twice the "Christmas Tour" was supported by the Presidential Grants Fund, which helped to purchase new equipment for young athletes from Tchaikovsky, Perm and Berezniki.
