Yeshchenko ended his career and joined the coaching staff of Spartak

Russia (bbabo.net), - Spartak defender Andrey Yeshchenko has decided to retire as a football player.

According to the official website of Spartak, Yeshchenko will join the coaching staff of the capital club. The 37-year-old football player has been playing for the team since 2016, having played 109 matches since then, in which he scored one goal.

Yeshchenko became the champion of Russia with the “red-whites”, a silver and bronze medalist, as well as the winner of the country's Super Cup.

Previously, he played for Khimki, Nizhny Novgorod Volga, Moscow Lokomotiv and Dynamo, Anzhi, Kuban, and also played in Ukraine for Dynamo Kiev, Arsenal and Dnepr. In 2007 he won the title of champion of Ukraine.

Yeshchenko also played for the Russian national team, in which he played 14 matches.
