Two more tennis players with vaccine exemptions leave Australia

Two more tennis players with medical exemptions from vaccination have left Australia, according to ABC Sport.

The names of the players are not called. Sources close to the athletes said that tennis players left the country after the scandal with Serb Novak Djokovic and the deportation of Czech Renata Voracova.

Both players had previously received permission to enter Australia and moved around Melbourne without problems until the Djokovic scandal began.

Djokovic could face up to 12 months in prison for false information Tennis On Friday, Australian authorities canceled Djokovic's visa for the second time. The first racket of the world faces a three-year ban on entering the country, he can file another appeal.

On Monday, the court lifted the ban on Djokovic from entering Australia. On December 4, the Serbian athlete announced that he had received a medical exemption, which was approved by the authorities of the Australian state of Victoria and the country's tennis federation. After that, he traveled to Melbourne (the capital of Victoria), where from January 17 to 30 the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, which he won nine times, including the last three years, will be held.

Djokovic was denied entry to Australia at Melbourne Airport for violating anti-COVID requirements and had his visa revoked. The border guard did not let the Serb in because he failed to provide sufficient justification for a medical exemption from vaccination. The tennis player was supposed to be deported, but his lawyers filed an appeal in federal court against the decision to cancel the visa.

Voracova arrived in Australia in December with an exemption from vaccination after suffering a coronavirus, but after the scandal with Djokovic, her visa was canceled and the Czech tennis player left the country.
