Police near Moscow detained a suspect in the theft of more than €60 thousand (about 5.2 million rubles at the current exchange rate) from the account of a Romanian football player, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

“It was previously established that an employee of one of the credit institutions, having access to information constituting banking secrecy, embezzled more than €60,000 from the account of a Romanian football player. On suspicion of committing theft, the police detained a resident of the city of Moscow. The man confessed. He disposed of the stolen funds at his own discretion, ”said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). The attacker was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior.

It all happened in July 2019, when Florescu had already left Russia.

Florescu, now 37, played for Dynamo in 2013-2014 and Alania in 2010-2011. In Russia, he also played for Torpedo (2006–2007). He played ten matches for the Romanian national team and scored one goal in 2010–2012.
