Active fans of the Rostov football club decided to refuse to issue fan IDs (Fan ID) and attend events using it, according to a statement on the Rostselmash Fans page on the VKontakte social network.
“In our opinion, such screening out of the “wrong” fans is aimed at eradicating organized and colorful fan sickness and turning sporting events into silent theater. Despite this, we were, are and will be with Selmash to the end and will continue to support the club in all ways available to us, ”the message says.
Fans stated that the introduction of Fan ID "would not improve the safety and comfort of viewers, but would become another tool for already pervasive and excessive control."
