Assistant to the President will meet with RPL clubs due to the introduction of Fan ID

Assistant to the President of Russia and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Football Union (RFU) will discuss with representatives of the RPL clubs the issue of introducing electronic fan IDs (Fan ID), said the Minister of Sports of the Moscow Region and a member of the Khimki Supervisory Board Roman Teryushkov.

“Igor Levitin is scheduled to meet with representatives of the clubs on Wednesday,” Teryushkov told Match TV.

Matytsin responded to fan claims over Fan ID law identification of fans, until the complete repeal of the law starting from the spring part of this season.

Also, fans of St. Petersburg Zenit, Rostov and a number of other clubs expressed their disagreement with the introduction of the FAN ID.

The Fan ID Law was passed and approved in December and will come into effect on June 1st. A FAN ID will be required to attend competitions, a list of which will be determined by the government.

Fan ID was used in Russia at the Confederations Cup in 2017, at the 2018 World Cup and during the Euro 2020 matches in St. Petersburg. The service will also be implemented at the Champions League final in May 2022.
