Head of ROC Pozdnyakov: It looks like someone deliberately held Valieva's sample before the Olympics

Russia (bbabo.net), - The head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), four-time Olympic champion Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that the timing of the processing by the laboratory of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of a positive doping test of figure skater Kamila Valieva raises serious questions.

“I don’t remember in my practice, both as an athlete and as a leader, not a single case where the result was processed for so long,” Pozdnyakov emphasized in a conversation with reporters. - Between December 25, when Valieva was tested at the Russian Championship in St. Petersburg, and February 8, when the result was announced, a month and a half passed. According to international standards for laboratories of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the time limit for loading an A sample is 20 days from the moment the sample is received at the laboratory. It looks very strange that it took so long for the sample to get from St. Petersburg to the accredited laboratory in Stockholm. This raises very serious questions for me. I would like to get specific answers why this happened. It is very likely that someone held this sample until the end of the team figure skaters competition.
