President of the Kazakhstan Football Federation Adilbek Dzhaksybekov addressed the football community, the KFF website reports.
The current head of the KFF, who previously refused to participate in the elections, explained his decision.
"Despite the fact that the majority of the KFF members expressed their support for me and nominated my candidacy, I decided not to run for a new term. I think that the time has come to cede the post of president of the federation. Look how many worthy candidates claim to be the president of the KFF and what interest the Kazakh public is riveted to the upcoming elections. This indicates the high authority of the federation, the great interest in football, the great desire to work for the benefit of its development, and this is also the fruit of the work of the federation in recent years. I know all the candidates well, we have worked together for many years. I am sure that the members of the federation will choose a worthy president, and I wish good luck to all applicants in the upcoming elections.
I want to express my gratitude to all my colleagues, functionaries, football players, coaches, our partners from FIFA and UEFA, with whom we have worked side all these years. I want to thank the fans for their love for this wonderful game.
I am sure that Kazakhstani football will continue its progressive development! I remain his devoted fan," Dzhaksybekov said.
One of the favorites withdrew his candidacy from the KFF presidential election
Recall that following the results of the meeting, the following candidates were registered for participation in the upcoming elections: Adilet Barmenkulov (member of the executive committee of the KFF, adviser to the president of the Association "Kazakhstan Football Federation"), Yerlan Dzharylkasinov (chairman of the NGO "Kazakhstan League of Football Fans"), Berik Kaniyev ( Member of the KFF Executive Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Lancaster Group Kazakhstan"), David Loria (President of the ALE "Association of the Football Federation of Nur-Sultan") and Kairat Orazbekov (member of the Executive Committee of the KFF, President of AFK "Kairat"). Previously, he withdrew his candidacy head of PFLK Olzhas Abraev.
