Six cases of COVID detected in rivals of Russian hockey players at the Games

The Danish national team, which is a rival of Russian hockey players in the group stage of the Olympic tournament, has six cases of coronavirus, the team lacks base players, head coach of the Danes Heinz Ehlers told Match TV.

“We had six hockey players with positive tests when we flew to the Olympics. Four of them will return home from isolation in the next 24 hours. Two more will remain in Beijing and will be treated,” Ehlers said.

According to him, the coronavirus was detected in four base players and two reservists.

On February 1, the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation announced the cancellation of the test match with the Canadians before flying to Beijing due to a positive test from defender Christian Marty. The Swiss will arrive at the Games on February 3rd.
