Russia (bbabo.net), - The group stage of the hockey tournament at the 2022 Olympics has ended in Beijing. The Russian national team recognized its potential rivals in the playoffs.
Recall that no one is eliminated after the group round. The top three teams in the quartets, as well as the best of the second-placed teams, advance directly to the quarter-finals.
The remaining eight participants will play an additional round. Pairs are determined by the rating of teams, compiled on the basis of performances in groups. The winners advance to the 1/4 finals, where they will meet with the best teams of the starting stage.
Four teams went directly to the 1/4 finals: the USA (from group "A"), Russia (from the quartet "B"), as well as the Finns and Swedes (from group "C"). Eight teams went to the qualifying round, which will play each other on February 15.
The Russian national team in the quarterfinals will play with the winner of the Denmark-Latvia pair, which took 5th and 11th places, respectively, in the ranking of teams, on the basis of which the teams were seeded in the qualifying round. The 1/4 final meeting with the participation of our guys is scheduled for February 16.
Here's what the full quarter-final bracket looks like: USA v Slovakia/Germany, Sweden v Canada/China, Finland v Czech Republic/Switzerland and Russia v Denmark/Latvia.
The semi-finals of the Olympics will be held on February 18, the bronze match on the 19th, and the final on the 20th.
