Four teams went directly to the quarter-finals of the tournament: USA (from group A), Russia (from group B), Finland and Sweden (group C). The remaining eight teams, which will play each other on Tuesday, February 15, went to the qualifying round.
The Russian national team in the quarterfinals will play with the winner of the match between the teams of Denmark and Latvia, who took sixth and 11th place respectively in the ranking of national teams, on the basis of which the teams were seeded in the qualifying round.

At the same time, the grid of the semi-finals of the Olympic tournament in Beijing has not yet been formed. After the quarterfinals, the pairs will be distributed according to the group stage "seeding" rating - the best of the remaining teams will play with the worst, the second - with the third.
The semi-finals of the hockey Olympics will be held on Friday, February 18. The match for bronze medals will take place on February 19, the final on February 20.
