The Russian men's speed skating team reached the semifinals of the team pursuit race at the Beijing Olympics.

Sergey Trofimov, Daniil Aldoshkin and Ruslan Zakharov covered the distance in 3:38.67, showing the third result. Ahead were the teams of Norway (3:37.47) and the USA (3:37.51).

Representatives of the Netherlands were also selected in 1/2. Teams of Canada, South Korea, China and Italy actually dropped out of the fight for medals.

The Russian skater said that he performed unsuccessfully at the 2022 Olympics Games. The four teams that showed the best time in the quarterfinals go to the semifinals of the competition. Teams with 5th and 6th times go to Final C, while teams with 7th and 8th times go to Final D.

Norway and the Netherlands will run in the first semi-final, Russia and the USA will run in the second. Canada and South Korea will compete in the C final, Italy and China in the D final.

Semi-final races will be held on February 15. The current Olympic champions are Norwegian speed skaters.
