The investigation reopened the suicide case of weightlifter Albert Linder

The case of incitement to suicide following the death of weightlifter Albert Linder has been reopened. This was reported to Sputnik Kazakhstan by the mother of the deceased.

Prior to this, the investigation into the incident was terminated in December 2021 due to the absence of a criminal offense in the act.

Meanwhile, the libel case against senior coach Sergei Sedov about the athlete's allegedly dirty doping control was dropped on February 7, 2022.

“At the court, I was told that the libel case was being closed due to the statute of limitations and that a criminal case had been opened since February 3 (on incitement to suicide),” said Natalya Linder.

"Slandered Albert even after death!". The brother of the deceased Kazakh weightlifter made a loud statement

Recall that the death of 25-year-old Albert Linder became known on September 17. The world champion among youths, the champion of Asia, the winner and record holder of the Universiade, the multiple champion of Kazakhstan, hanged himself. After that, his brother Semyon Linder “buried” all the medals, and a number of weightlifters complained and criticized the coaches of the Kazakhstan national team.
