The Russian men's biathlon team missed the victory in the relay at the Olympics

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Russian biathlon team missed the victory at the last shooting range. The Norwegians took the gold, the French second. Our athletes eventually won bronze.

The men's biathlon relay due to frosty weather was postponed to an earlier date. Russia was represented by Karim Khalili, Alexander Loginov, Maxim Tsvetkov and Eduard Latypov.

The first stage was run by Khalili. He stayed in the leader group and after the second shooting, where he spent one extra round, he went into the race as a leader. And behind one of the main favorites - the Norwegians - were wrong and lagged behind.

Khalili passed the baton first, followed by the team of Belarus.

Loginov managed to make a good lead, but on an unloved stand he made two misses, but managed to close the targets with the help of additional cartridges. The dangerous French followed, but Loginov, as if offended by himself, sharply increased his speed and brought more than 30 seconds to the nearest competitor at the finish line.

Tsvetkov, who twice became fourth at the current Games, did not disappoint. He was accurate on both frontiers, and the advantage of the Russians over the French approached a minute. Meanwhile, the Norwegians, for whom Johannes Be raced along the track, climbed to fourth place. However, this is the "merit" of the Belarusian team, whose athlete did not cope with the shooting on the rack.

The rivals won back a little in the rest of the stage, but Latypov went into the race, having an advantage of more than 40 seconds. Penultimate shooting: the Russian is accurate, the Frenchman and the German each used an extra cartridge, and Norway came in second place. Latypov's advantage after the 7th turn was 50 seconds.

Final shooting. Four misses and two penalties for the Russian. The Norwegian went into the race first, the Frenchman became the second, Latypov was only the third.

As a result, the Norwegian team won gold, silver from the French, and Russia became only the third.
