Swiss biathlete Irene Caduris fell ill during the 4x6 km relay at the Beijing Olympics.

Kaduris ran the first stage, but could not continue the race, she was taken off the track on a special stretcher.

Kaduris is 30 years old, for her the Games in Beijing were the third in her career. She did not participate in other races of the current Olympics.

Earlier, due to health problems, the Norwegian biathlete Ingrid Tandrevold had to end her performance at the Games. The Norwegian felt unwell after the sprint race, and after the pursuit she lost consciousness, and the doctors decided to send her home for a medical examination.
