Russian skiers after the fall reached the sprint final as “lucky losers”

Russian skiers Alexander Bolshunov and Alexander Terentiev reached the finals of the Beijing Olympics in the team sprint classic.

In their semi-final run, they finished in fifth place due to Terentiev's fall. Nevertheless, the Russians reached the final in time (as lucky losers).

Team sprint medals will be played later on Wednesday. Earlier, Russians Natalya Nepryaeva and Yulia Stupak also reached the final in the team sprint.

At the Beijing Games, Terentiev won bronze in the individual sprint, Bolshunov won gold in the relay and skiathlon, and silver in the 15 km race from a separate start.
