Trusova was the first in the world to complete 5 quadruple jumps at the Olympics

Russian figure skater Alexandra Trusova skated the free program at the Beijing Olympics with errors, but with a margin she took the preliminary first place.

During the performance, Trusova completed five quadruple jumps and never fell.

Trusova received 177.13 points for her performance. The final score is 251.73.

The world records for the free skate (185.29) and total points (272.71) were last updated in November 2021. They were installed by Kamila Valieva at the Grand Prix stage in Sochi.

In the free skate, Trusova announced the most difficult program in the history of Olympic tournaments: a quadruple flip, a quadruple salchow, a quadruple toe loop, a combination with a quadruple lutz and a triple toe loop, a combination with a quadruple lutz, an oiler and a triple salchow.

Trusova decided not to give up on the 2022 Olympics jump that was thwarted in the short program Trusova had previously tried to jump five quads at the World, European and Russian Championships. But in all these tournaments, she never managed to fulfill her plan.

Trusova is a bronze medalist of the 2021 World Championships, a two-time bronze medalist of the European Championships (2020, 2022).
