Great Britain loses a medal at the Olympics

The UK has been stripped of its silver medal in the 4x100m relay at the Tokyo Olympics last summer after track and field team member CJ Uja was found guilty of doping, Match TV reported, citing BBC Sport.

The British team finished second behind Italy by one hundredth of a second. Uja tested positive for Ostarine and S-23 after the competition.

The 27-year-old athlete noted that he "unknowingly used a contaminated substance" and this situation he "will regret for the rest of his life."

In the 4 x 100m relay team, Uja was led by Jarnel Hughes, Richard Kilty and Nathaniel Mitchell-Blake.

“I would like to apologize to my teammates, their families and supporters for what I did. I am sorry that this situation cost my teammates the medals they have worked so hard for so long and which they fully deserve. " said London native Uja.

Both Ostarine and S-23 are known as selective androgen receptor modulators (Sarms). The US Anti-Doping (USADA) states that Sarms has "anabolic properties similar to anabolic steroids".

S-23 is listed as an anabolic and banned both in and out of competition.

The third place in the mentioned relay was taken by Canada.
