The Russian team with 32 medals finished the Olympics in ninth place

According to the results of the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Russian team became the ninth in the medal standings. On account of Russian athletes 32 awards - six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze.

The medal standings were won ahead of schedule by the Norwegians, who won 16 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze medals. The second place was taken by the German team (12-10-5), the third - the Chinese team (9-4-2).

Most of the medals in the treasury of the Russian team were brought by skiers - 11. Alexander Bolshunov took gold in the skiathlon and marathon. The Russians also won the men's (Bolshunov, Alexey Chervotkin, Denis Spitsov and Sergey Ustyugov) and women's (Natalya Nepryaeva, Yulia Stupak, Veronika Stepanova, Tatyana Sorina) relay races.

Silver was won by Spitsov (skiathlon), Bolshunov (15 km classical style), Ivan Yakimushkin (marathon), Nepryaeva (skiathlon). Bronze was taken by Bolshunov and Terentyev (team sprint), Nepryaeva and Stupak (team sprint), Terentyev (personal sprint).

The Games in Beijing set a record for Russia in terms of the number of medals after the Sochi 2022 Olympics Figure skaters won six medals: gold in team competition (Kamila Valieva, Mark Kondratyuk, pair Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov, dancers Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov) and in women's skating (Anna Shcherbakov), silver went to single skater Alexandra Trusova, to the pair of Evgeny Tarasov / Vladimir Morozov and to Sinitsina and Katsalapov. Russian biathletes won silver (Kristina Reztsova, Uliana Nigmatullina, Svetlana Mironova and Irina Kazakevich) in the women's relay and three bronzes in the men's pursuit (Eduard Latypov), the men's relay (Latypov, Alexander Loginov, Maxim Tsvetkov and Karim Khalili) and the mixed relay ( Reztsova, Nigmatullina, Loginov, Latypov).

Ice hockey players, ski jumpers Danil Sadreev, Irina Avvakumova, Evgeny Klimov and Irma Makhinya in the team competition, speed skaters Daniil Aldoshkin, Sergey Trofimov and Ruslan Zakharov in the team pursuit race, short track skater Konstantin Ivliev (500 m) also brought silver medals to Russia.

Bronze medals were won by speed skater Angelina Golikova (500 m), snowboarder Vic Wild (parallel giant slalom), short track skater Semyon Elistratov (1500 m), luger Tatyana Ivanova, freestylers Anastasia Smirnova (mogul), Ilya Burov (ski acrobatics) and Sergey Ridzik (ski cross).

At the Olympics in Pyeongchang, Russians who competed in the status of "Olympic Athletes from Russia" (OAR) won two gold, six silver and nine bronze medals.

According to the results of the Games in Sochi, after the revision, the Russians have 30 medals (11–10–9).
