Andrey Rublev became the winner of the ATP tournament in France

Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev won the ATP tournament in Marseille, defeating Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final match in two sets - 7:5, 7:6.

The calendar year has barely started, and Rublev and Auger-Aliassime are sorting things out for the second time. Thanks to the victory in France, Andrey managed, in a sense, to take revenge on Felix, who defeated the Russian in the semi-finals of the competition in Rotterdam (Netherlands).

In Marseille, Rublev looked stronger than all his rivals, but, interestingly, in all three matches before the final, he gave his opponents one set each. It's good that in the decisive meeting there were no three games, although in the second of them the tennis players had to fight in a tie-break.

- From the very first meeting with Felix in Umag, if I'm not mistaken, in 2018, all our matches were dramatic, three-set, there was always at least one tie-break. And at the end of last year, and at the beginning of this year, Auger-Aliassime became one of the strongest players in the world. It was very nice to share the court with him and have such a final. With a score of 5:4 in the second set, he began to play better, and I already thought that the decisive third set could not be avoided (grins). But I also managed to improve my level. The ending was difficult, - said Rublev.

Note that for Andrey this title was the ninth in the ATP tournaments. Earlier, Rublev won competitions in Umag, Moscow, Doha, Adelaide, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Vienna and Rotterdam.
