The Estonian club refused to participate in the VTB United League because of Ukraine

The Estonian basketball club "Kalev" announced its withdrawal from the VTB United League due to the events in Ukraine. This was reported on the team's website.

“Due to Russia's military aggression in Ukraine, Kalev terminates its membership in the VTB United League. The team is categorically against any forceful actions and does not consider it expedient to continue playing in the league. From a sporting point of view, the last 12 years have provided a valuable opportunity for both the players and the club to test themselves at a higher level, but the current situation and Russian aggression are unacceptable.

Euroleague called an emergency meeting of clubs due to a special operation in the Donbass Kalev basketball has played in the VTB United League since 2009. This season, after 13 matches of the regular season, the Tallinn club was in tenth place, with three wins to its credit.

Of the foreign clubs this season, Astana, Tsmoki-Minsk and the Polish Zielona Gora still play in the VTB United League.
