Two-time Olympic champion and former world featherweight champion Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux (20-3, 13 KOs) suffered a sensational defeat from Filipino Vincent Astrolabio (17-3, 12 KOs), bbabo.net correspondent reports.
Their fight for the vacant WBC International bantamweight title took place in Dubai (UAE). The key episode happened in the eighth round, when the 41-year-old Rigondeaux was knocked down.
Astrolabio failed to finish off the veteran, but brought the fight to victory - all three judges gave the victory to the Filipino 95-94.
It was Rigondeaux's first fight since a controversial August loss to WBO champion Filipino Jonriel Casimero.
