President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstani Alexander Gerlitz on winning the first medal at the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing, bbabo.net correspondent reports.
The Kazakh athlete became the bronze medalist of the Games in the 10 km biathlon race.
"At the Paralympic Games in Beijing, Kazakh biathlete Alexander Gerlitz won a bronze medal in the 10 km race. This is the first medal of Kazakhstan at the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. I congratulate Alexander from the bottom of my heart and wish him further sporting achievements!" Tokayev wrote on Twitter.
