Golovkin got a new competitor to fight Canelo

WBA, WBC and IBF light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo (34-1-1, 18 KOs) joined the ranks of boxers who want to fight the undisputed champion of the second middle division Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KO), reports bbabo.net.

According to the American, he agrees to fight Canelo in catchweight. Charlo is convinced that he can teach the Mexican a lesson in boxing, as the legendary Floyd Mayweather did in his time, who in 2013 inflicted the only defeat in his career on Alvarez.

“Of course I would like to be the guy to fight Alvarez. Canelo, get down to 158 pounds. I can easily do 158 pounds.

I will give him the same great boxing lesson as Floyd Mayweather. It's time for them to respect my name in the boxing world," said Jermell.

Recall that Alvarez will fight the next fight on May 7 against WBA Super light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (19-0, 11 KOs) of Russia, and on September 17 he is scheduled to fight a trilogy with Kazakh Gennady Golovkin (41-1-1, 36 KO). Meanwhile, on May 14, Charlo should arrange a rematch with the WBO title holder Argentine Brian Castaño (17-0-2, 12 KOs).
