A visitor to Shymbulak died due to an avalanche

A visitor died as a result of an accident in the Shymbulak ski resort, reports bbabo.net. He collided with an avalanche cutter while skiing.

The incident happened on March 10th. At 10:58 am, the resort rescuers received information about an avalanche in the area above the eighth pillar of Combi-2. Rescuers who arrived at the scene at 11:02 a.m. found a body part on the surface near the avalanche divider.

"The rescue operation lasted no more than three minutes. At 11:05 a.m., the skier was dug up without signs of life with traces of hitting his head on an avalanche cutter. The visitor went beyond the marked trails allowed for skiing, climbed over the fence into the off-piste skiing area. The man did not have the necessary avalanche equipment : a beeper, a probe and a shovel," the resort's press service said.

It is noted that at 11:25 he was taken to the first-aid post, where at 11:29 the medical staff pronounced him dead.

"The man provoked an avalanche that swept him onto an avalanche cutter, where later, in a collision with a chipper, he received head injuries incompatible with life. The resort administration expresses its deepest condolences to family and friends," the press service added.

Earlier it was reported that five avalanches descended at the Shymbulak ski resort.
