Ex-world champion agreed to a title fight after the escape from Alimkhanuly

Former WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (39-0, 31 KOs) has received an official offer from RBC Al Haymon to fight American WBC champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs), according to bbabo.net.

According to insiders, the parties are close to finally closing the deal. Officially, the fight may be announced as early as next week. There is information that Munguia accepted the conditions of the fight and it remains only to convince his promoters - Fernando Beltran (Promociones Zanfer) and Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions).

Columnist Keith Ideck claims that the parties are discussing a June 18 date. The fight will take place on the territory of Charlo - in Houston (Texas, USA). It is for this reason that the WBO decided to appoint a new opponent for the mandatory challenger from Kazakhstan Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (11-0, 7 KOs).

Another insider, Steve Kim, said that the conclusions are premature - the parties still have unresolved points of contention.
