Steve Rolls scored a second victory after a tough defeat to Golovkin

Former opponent of Gennady Golovkin Canadian Steve Rolls (21-1, 12 KOs) beat Christopher Brooker (16-9, 6 KOs) from the USA, bbabo.net reports.

This was the second in a row the fighter's early victory after that very painful defeat.

Rolls boxed very well: he controlled the distance with a jab, combined, often punched through the body. There were some mistakes in defense - I somehow managed to miss the sweeping overhand from the underdog. In the second round, the favorite's advantage increased. Brooker answered less and less often - he focused as much as possible on defensive actions.

Brooker tried to seize the initiative. He slipped an uppercut in infighting, caught up with a left hook. On this, his local successes ended - every now and then he missed two marks and painful badipanches. In the fifth round, Brooker went into survival mode, clinching more and more often. And in the next three minutes I resisted not without problems after a missed uppercut.

The underdog got even more in the eighth round. He limped with difficulty to his corner. For some reason, Brooker was released for the ninth three minutes, and the American finally fell, could not get to his feet before the referee counted to ten.

As a reminder, GGG and Rolls met in 2019. Rolls then lost early in the fourth round.
