Who will be the next opponent of the Kazakh MMA veteran

Kazakhstan veteran fighter Igor Svirid (18-10) will perform at the 47th Eagle FC tournament, which will be held on April 1 in Penza (Russia). The correspondent of bbabo.net talks about the new duel between the native of Korday and his opponent.

The 35-year-old middleweight will face Russian Gamzat Hiramagomedov (9-1). Svirid agreed to come on as a substitute two and a half weeks before the tournament. Initially, the 28-year-old Hiramagomedov was on the card and was supposed to fight with another representative of Kazakhstan, Dauren Ermekov (15-5), but in there was a whole series of changes in the tournament schedule.

First, the Russian fighter Alexander Shlemenko (61-13-0-1) dropped out of the main fight of the evening, and then they decided to change the fight to the main fight for Ermekov. Dauren could not help but agree to a title chance against the champion from Tajikistan Faridun Odilov (12-2-2). As a result, Gamzat was left without an opponent, but not for long - Svirid saved his fight in the tournament.

Svirid, nicknamed "Lionheart" goes on a series of six victories in a row. He won them at two Grand Prix tournaments within Bushido Kazakhstan. But Igor lost his last fights in major promotions, and it happened in ASA. He is a former ACA and One Championship middleweight champion. He already played in Eagle FC, however, then the league was called GFC. At the 23rd tournament, held in December 2019, Igor won by unanimous decision in the confrontation with the Brazilian Adriano Rodriguez de Oliveira (18-6-1-2).

In total, Svirid has 18 wins (according to Sherdog. - Ed.) - eight submissions, six knockouts and four wins by decision. Ten times he lost - eight times by decision, as well as once by knockout and submission.

Hiramagomedov is a native of Makhachkala (Dagestan, Russia). He became the winner of the Russian and European championships in combat sambo. The younger brother of another famous fighter Gadzhimurat Hiramagomedov (11-4). He has nine victories in his professional career with a single defeat. He prefers to record wins by knockout, and he has five such finishes. Gamzat won twice by decision and submission. He suffered his only defeat in May 2019 at the PFL American promotion tournament. Then he lost to Glaiko Franca (22-8-0-1) from Brazil, caught in a rear naked choke.

Now the Russian has a series of two knockout victories, the last of which he won at the 43rd Eagle FC event in December 2021. Then he knocked out the Brazilian Giuliano Del Vinho (5-1) in the first round.

In his amateur career, he has already defeated fighters from Kazakhstan - his failed opponent in this tournament Ermekov, as well as Murad Abdurakhmanov (7-1). Interestingly, in terms of amateurs, Gamzat lost only once, and this happened in a duel with his brother Gadzhimurat. Then Hiramagomedov Sr. had one and a half minutes to catch his brother with a choke. This fight will take place in the middle weight category and will be designed for three rounds.

Earlier, we talked about the imminent return to the cage of Kazakh welterweight Goiti Dazaev (10-3-1).
