In Russia, reacted to the decision of the CAS for clubs and the national team

The press service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) commented on the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to uphold the ban of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on the participation of Russian teams in international tournaments under the auspices of the organization.

"On March 15, the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) decided to refuse the RFU's request for the removal of interim measures on a claim against UEFA for the duration of the trial.

We emphasize that this decision applies only to competitions under the auspices of UEFA and applies only to interim measures. The consideration of the case itself will continue in accordance with the procedure determined by the CAS.

A decision on a similar petition as part of a lawsuit against FIFA is expected before the end of this week," the RFU communications service told the Championship.

Earlier, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA issued a joint statement, according to which Russian teams and clubs were suspended from participation in all international competitions for an indefinite period.

The Russian Football Union (RFU) filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Later it became known that UEFA and FIFA denied the RFU an expedited procedure for considering the case in CAS.
