The new football season in the Kazakhstan championship, as usual, will reveal many young players, and will also please the performances of the representatives of the "old guard". The bbabo.net correspondent drew attention to the age of the players of the teams participating in the KPL. It turned out that the difference between the oldest and youngest player is almost 23 years.
The most experienced and oldest player participating in KPL-2022 is the goalkeeper of Tobol Alexander Mokin. In June, the former goalkeeper of the Kazakhstan national team will turn 41 years old. But despite his mature age by football standards, Mokin is still not going to give a place in the starting lineup to his younger competitors.
In the starting two rounds of the Premier League, he left his possessions intact, and before that he helped the Kostanay team win the Super Cup of Kazakhstan. Mokin no longer had peers in the country's top division, and he was several years ahead of the nearest “persecutors” in age.
If we take field players, then the most experienced is Mokin's teammate from Serbia Zoran Tosic. At the end of April, the former Manchester United and CSKA Moscow player turns 38 and is the second oldest KPL player after Mokin.
And in the Super Bowl, and two starting rounds of the KPL, Zoran came out in the starting lineup. But the Serbian's current form does not allow him to give out cool performances for 90 minutes, so in every game he was replaced in the second half.
As for young football players, Kairat players stand out here. The youngest player in the clubs' application for KPL-2022 is Yan Trufanov, a forward from Almaty. Only in mid-May he will be 18 years old.
So far, Trufanov has not played for the first team of Almaty, but last year he played three matches for the youth team of Kazakhstan under 19.
The youngest non-Kazakh footballer was the Cameroonian legionary of "Kairat" David Ekwe. Only in October he will be 20 years old. The signing of a contract with him became known recently.
Prior to this, the young right-back played only in his homeland for the Ofta club. Previously, he was at the location of the Almaty team at the pre-season training camp in Turkey. So far, Ekwe has not officially appeared in Kairat's application on the PFLC website. But it's only a matter of time.
