Anfisa Reztsova's daughter won a medal for the first time in the personal race of the World Cup

Russian biathlete Kristina Reztsova became the third in the mass start at the fourth stage of the World Cup, which takes place in Annecy, France.

The victory was won by Elvira Eberg of Sweden, who showed a result of 35 minutes 21.7 seconds, having two penalties on four firing lines. Reztsova lost 12.1 seconds to her, also having two penalties.

The second place was taken by the Frenchwoman Julia Simon (+10.7; 2).

For Russian biathletes, this is the first personal race award in the World Cup season. On December 11, they were second in the Hochfilzen relay. The last time a personal medal as part of the Russian national team was won by Mironova, who on December 13, 2019 became the third in the sprint at the stage in Hochfilzen.

25-year-old Reztsova also hit the podium for the first time in personal races at the World Cup stages. Previously, she had awards only in relay races. Christina Reztsova is the daughter of Anfisa Reztsova, Olympic champion in cross-country skiing and biathlon.

In Annecy, Russian biathletes have already won three awards. Eduard Latypov was second in the sprint and pursuit.

The stage will conclude later on Sunday with the men's mass start. The next stage of the World Cup will be held in Oberhof, Germany from January 6 to 9.
