Abramovich will not acquire the Turkish club. Details

Russian billionaire and owner of the English "Chelsea" Roman Abramovich does not plan to buy the club of the Turkish Superleague "Geztepe", reports "Sport day".

The source refers to a representative of a Russian businessman.

On March 23, the Turkish channel CNN Turk announced that the owner of Goztepe, Mehmet Sepil, was in talks with Abramovich to sell the team to the Russian. Sepil, who owns Göztepe since 2014, after the unsuccessful performances of the team (18th in the Turkish Super League), is looking for an opportunity to sell the club.

Recall that Abramovich intends to sell Chelsea after the authorities of the United Kingdom on March 10 imposed sanctions against him and six other Russian businessmen. Those sanctioned will be banned from entering the UK, and their assets in the country will be frozen. Earlier, Abramovich handed over the management of Chelsea to the trustees of a charitable foundation.
