Tyson Fury threatened with criminal charges

British boxer Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) may be prosecuted for ties with the head of a drug cartel, reports R-Sport, citing The Times.

According to the source, the UK authorities recommended a number of boxers, including Fury, to break all ties with Daniel Kinahan, the head of an Irish criminal group. Otherwise, they will fall under criminal liability as accomplices.

All of Kinahan's US assets, worth about $5 million, have been frozen, and the reward for information that could help in his capture is also $5 million.

Kinahan is the founder of the promotional company MTK Global, with which Fury has a contract. In March, World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Suleiman expressed his support for his contributions to the sport. Fury was spotted with Kinahan in February in Dubai.

Recall that in October, Fury won by knockout from American Deontay Wilder (45-2-1, 42 KOs) and defended his previously won WBC world title. Moreover, the Briton was knocked down twice during the battle. Fury later announced his retirement.
