Eddie Hearn praises Golovkin's victory over the super champion and spoke about the trilogy with Canelo

The head of the Matchroom Boxing promotional company Eddie Hearn shared his impressions of the fight between Kazakh Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) and Japanese Ryota Murata (16-3, 13 KOs), bbabo.net reports.

Their unification match took place on April 9 in Japan and ended with an early victory for GGG. Thus, the Kazakhstani defended the IBF and IBO middleweight titles, and also added the WBA Super belt, which belonged to Murata, to them.

“Golovkin spent over 400 days out of the ring, came back, gave out some bad rounds, and then destroyed Murata. In my opinion, he will do much better in the super middleweight division, as he has been in the middle division for eight to nine years,” said Hearn in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans.

“Surprise for Canelo. Expert dismantled Golovkin’s knockout victory over the “super champion”

The promoter also spoke about the GGG trilogy with the undisputed world super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) of Mexico, who will face the WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol of Russia in May.

“I think the mindset of the fans will change a bit when they know the fight is set. When we were negotiating this fight, everyone was like, 'Oh, yeah.' I'm not really excited about the trilogy." Trust me, if Canelo gets past Bivol, his fight with Golovkin will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest in the world of boxing.

It's a huge fight, but Canelo needs to beat Bivol. It will be a very difficult fight. We will see. I hope Mr. GGG will be in Vegas and we can announce this fight. But only if Canelo beats Bivol," Hearn added.
