Rival Barys decided on his future after leaving the KHL

Former KHL participant Finnish Jokerit intends to return to the national championship in the 2023/24 season, according to the official website of the club from Helsinki.

It is noted that next season the club will not be represented in any league, but junior teams will continue to work as usual.

The Finns have played in the KHL since the 2014/15 season and twice reached the quarterfinals of the Gagarin Cup. This season they made the decision to leave the league amid the situation in Ukraine.

The team plays home matches at the Hartwall Arena, owned by Russian businessmen Roman Rotenberg and Gennady Timchenko. It is noted that if there are no changes in the composition of the owners of the sports facility in the future, the team will look for a new arena.

Note that in the regular season of the 2021/22 season, Jokerit was in second place in the Western Conference table. In the quarterfinals of the Western Conference, the Finns had to play with the Moscow "Spartak".
