45-year-old Ferapontov replaced another Kazakhstani in this position - 44-year-old Konstantin Gorovenko, who will coach "Atyrau".

In the 2021 season, Ferapontov was an assistant to the head coach of Ordabasy. He helped the Belarusian Alexander Sednev.

Previously, he was already the head of "Maktaaral". In the second half of the 2018 season, the team finished seventh out of 12 in the first league. In addition, Ferapontov has experience of independent work in the Ile-Saulet and Okzhetpes clubs. Also, in addition to "Ordabasy", he was a member of the coaching staff of the national and youth team of Kazakhstan, "Aktobe" and the Belarusian "Rukh".
