He brought Tobol to gold, thundered in the Champions League and won the Cup. How young Kazakh coaches made their debut in the CPL

Andrey Ferapontov became the coach of “Maktaaral”. For a 45-year-old specialist, this will be the first independent work experience in the top division. The correspondent of bbabo.net tells how in recent years Kazakhstani coaches made their debut at such a high level and what they achieved.

Alexander Moskalenko

The 45-year-old mentor took over the Tobol in the summer. He replaced Grigory Babayan, who left for CSKA Moscow. Moskalenko had previously been Babayan's assistant and therefore did not need to adapt to the Kostanay club. Moskalenko successfully completed the work of his colleague, leading "Tobol" to the championship.

Prior to that, he worked in the first league and the national youth team. He was also an assistant in "Astana" and "Kaisar".

Note that Babayan himself before “Tobol” took independent coaching steps in “Astana” back in 2013. Then he was 33 years old.

Andrey Karpovich

He made his debut in an independent role in 2018. As the acting head coach, he ended the season with “Kairat”. Under him, Almaty residents played five matches in the championship, two of which ended in a draw and three lost. But in 2018, Karpovich led the “yellow-blacks” to victory in the Kazakhstan Cup.

After that, for two seasons, he headed "Okzhetpes". In KPL-2019, residents of Kokshetau finished in seventh place out of 12. And the next season, the club from the Akmola region took the last, 11th line and flew to the first league. Despite this, Karpovich was entrusted with the head of the Petropavlovsk "Kyzyl-Zhar". And the 40-year-old specialist justified his appointment.

In KPL-2021, the northerners in a difficult struggle managed to take the fourth place, which gives the right to represent the country in European competitions for the first time in their history. "Kyzyl-Zhar" will perform in the League of Conferences.

Konstantin Gorovenko

Gorovenko previously coached the clubs of the first league (Kairat A and Zhetysu B) and was a member of the coaching staff of Kairat, and last year during the season he headed the Karaganda Shakhtar. He finished fourth with the Pitmen and made it to the 2021/22 UEFA competition season.

Despite his success in his first independent season, he parted ways with the Pitmen. Before the start of KPL-2021, Gorovenko was supposed to head "Zhetysu". Taldykorgan residents even managed to introduce a new mentor. But in the future he never took up his duties, ending up in the first league and leading “Maktaaral” to second place.

Now he will conquer the KPL together with Atyrau. Gorovenko has already gone on an internship at Zenit and is ready to apply all his experience.

Kirill Keker

The 42-year-old specialist took over the leadership of Kairat in the summer. In this post, he replaced Alexei Shpilevsky. He had to start work in a rather difficult tournament situation. After Shpilevsky left, the lag of Almaty from the leading “Astana” was ten points, and from “Tobol” - seven points.

Under Keker, "Kairat" played five matches in the CPL. The Yellow-Blacks won four matches and drew once. The club scored 13 points out of 15 possible, scoring 17 goals and conceding three. After Keker left, Almaty residents with 37 points lagged behind the leading “Tobol” by five points and by four from “Astana”.

In addition, Keker managed to beat the Israeli Maccabi (Haifa) in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, and then the Almaty team defeated Crvena Zvezda at home - 2: 1. However, in the return match they were defeated with a score of 0: 5 and were relegated to the Europa League, where they unsuccessfully performed in the confrontation with the Armenian "Alashkert" - 0: 0 and 2: 3. After the defeat in Yerevan, the Kazakh resigned.

Ali Aliyev

Aliyev, 41, previously had experience in the first league, leading the Petropavlovsk Kyzyl-Zhar to the gold medals of the 2019 season. At the beginning of 2021, he took over Shakhtar.

The Pitmen played six matches under his leadership, of which they won only one. In the remaining five, defeats were recorded. In April he left his post. However, this is not a reason to sprinkle ashes on your head. The example of the same Karpovich is indicative. And the high potential of Aliyev as a specialist is well known.

Rinat Alyuetov

The youngest coach of KPL-2021 took over "Zhetysu" after Konstantin Gorovenko had failed to join the club. Naturally, one should not expect great accomplishments from him, including for the reason that the 32-year-old Kazakhstani had very modest human resources.

Thus, the last place of Taldykorgan residents was not a surprise to anyone. At the same time, they won five victories and drew in four matches.
