Colombian tennis player suspended for cocaine use

Colombian tennis player Alejandro Gomez has been temporarily suspended from the competition after passing a positive doping test for the metabolite of cocaine, according to the official website of the International Tennis Federation.

Gomez passed a urine sample on October 19 at the Challenger Series in Bogota. The anti-doping laboratory has detected a metabolite of cocaine in the provided analysis.

The tennis player has been suspended since December 15 and has not yet exercised his right to challenge the disqualification.
