The National Hockey League (NHL) has announced that after the Christmas break, regular season matches will begin on Tuesday 28 December at the earliest. This was reported on the NHL website.

It was originally planned to resume the season on December 27, however, due to the fact that the league must analyze the results of full-scale testing and assess the readiness of clubs for games, it was decided to postpone the date by one day.
